You can wear colored tie bars on solid ties that are the same shade (blue in this case), but they look their best when the tie features contrasting hues. With that said, try this one on a red tie for an Americana vibe or add it to a collegiate striped tie with blue details.
Here a few pointers for wearing this tie bar correctly. First, make sure you clasp it to your shirt. (Tie bars aren’t just for style, they are great for keeping ties put.) As far as placement, when you button your jacket your tie bar should still be visible. No jacket? Don't worry. Count down from your neck and place the tie bar between your third and fourth buttons.
