For older boys who can tie their own tie, our hunter green and gold striped tie is a great choice for school uniform wear. The two-color stripes are classic and just like our men's size, but proportional for younger ages. (We make this tie in matching men's sizes, and other tie styles, if needed.)
This tie measures 3-inches wide and 48-inches long, which is a regular boys' size. (More on sizing below, but this length fits most boys 8 to 13-years old.) The tie is made from a thicker weight, durable material with a light sheen that isn't too shiny or too matte.
Sizing
When tied, the tip of a necktie should hit at about the belt line. Typically, this length of tie will fit most children ages 8 to 13-years old. Since kids vary in size, you might want to do a quick measurement to ensure this tie is the best fit. Measure the child from the collar to the belt line. The length measured should be roughly between 14.5 and 17-inches long. Need a different size? For shorter lengths, try a pre-tied boys' tie. For longer lengths, consider a men's tie.
